Working of evening primrose in horses
Evening primrose is a biennial, hardy plant originating from the United States, but now also found in the wild in more areas. Native Americans used evening primrose to heal wounds faster, but it was also a source of food for them. Especially the oil, from the first cold pressing, is used for its medicinal properties. The plant consists of about 25% of this oil, with ALA omega 3 fatty acids.
