Cloves in horses

The clove tree is cultivated in Asia. The unopened flower buds are harvested and dried and can be used for their medicinal properties.

Cloves were used by the Chinese in the past to improve breath. But in the Netherlands, cloves are also known as a painkiller for toothaches. A clove was then pressed on the tooth for an anesthetic effect.
