Algae in Horses

Algae are small micro-organisms with a huge impact. You can find algae not only in ponds, but also in lakes and the sea. These little plants play a very important role in the marine ecosystem. Algae contain chlorophyll which allows them to carry out photosynthesis and produce oxygen.

Algae are very healthy for horses and are a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids (DHA). They are a vegan source of DHA and an alternative to, for example, salmon oil or flaxseed oil. Not all algae are healthy, as there are also toxic variants, so always choose a product that is suitable for horses.
