What herbs support your dog with car sickness?
Motion sickness in dogs is common. About 20% of dogs suffer from it. It's important to get your dog used to short car rides from a young age. But if training isn't enough, there are also herbs that can support your dog with motion sickness.

Dogs can get motion sickness in all forms of transportation. The dog's vestibular system becomes confused by the motion of the car, boat, or airplane. It helps if you train this and if your dog can see where he's going. But sometimes that's not enough.
Thyme and Chamomile
The herbs passionflower, chamomile, lavender, and thyme can help with nausea and thus motion sickness. Chamomile acts on the stomach and digestion. Additionally, it is calming and soothes the stomach. This herb is often recommended for stomach problems due to anxiety or restlessness and is therefore effective against nausea in motion sickness. Thyme has strong antioxidant and antibacterial properties. This herb is also often used to combat stomach ulcers because it fights the Helicobacter bacterium and protects the stomach lining. Thyme also works against drowsiness and supports the entire digestive system.
Passionflower and Lavender
Passionflower is also known in traditional medicine (including in India) for its calming effect on the stomach in cases of tension and nausea. Lavender affects the contractions in the gastrointestinal tract and works in the central nervous system. It has been used for a long time to support stomach problems and nausea, also in humans.
Herbal Extract
Herbs are best given in a concentrated and easily absorbable form. A liquid extract that you can give over your dog's food or spray into the mouth with a dropper usually works best. The combination of passionflower, chamomile, lavender, and thyme enhances the effect and soothes the stomach. In this way, these herbs combat the symptoms of motion sickness in dogs.
